Love the cuddle me hooded sweater I also have made it with different sized hooks to make it bigger or smaller. Glad I found it again on your homepage because I lost some of the pages when I was crochet at the ball park. I'm adding on the length for my great gransons coming home from hospital. He will be born in Dec. and I want him to be warm so I want it to be long enough to wrap around his legs like a blanket.

I have just completed this sweater for our grandson in Australia! It was so easy and such a pleasure to make. Our daughter-in-law liked the pattern when I directed her to myour site months ago. Thank you for all the delightful patterns you design - I have made many for our first grandchild in England. I used one of your ponchos to complete her christening outift almost 2 years ago.

Hi. I didn't think I did the comments right because they didn't show up for a week, then all of them came on at the same time. Sorry. You can take out the ones you don't want. I am still crocheting and enjoying. I made the baby poncho a couple of days ago. Thank you for sharing these beautiful patterns

Hi. Thank you for sharing your beautiful patterns. I have made several hooded sweaters, starting with G hook for newborn, up to K for eighteen months. They turned out so beautiful. I made the sleeve pattern the same as the body by reversing directions after the last single crochet, then turning. I also made cuffs for sleeves and a ribbing for the bottom with front post/back post pattern for 5 rows. I made the body and hood, sewing the seam in the hood. Then I started at the right bottom corner, crocheted to the ties, made them, then continued around the front of the hood, then made the ties, then continued to the next bottom corner. I made two more trips around in single crochet. This made the fronts come together . Thanks for this beautiful pattern.

Hi. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful patterns. I have been having fun making the hooded baby sweater. I use the G hook for newborn size, H hook for 3 months size, etc. I even made a size 4 by continuing on with your formula for the yoke. All of them have turned out beautiful--thanks again. Bonnie

Hi. I have made several of these sweaters in the past month. I use:

G for newborn size
H for 3 month size
I for six month size
J for 12 month size
K for 18 month size

I also do a ribbing around the cuffs and bottom with 5 rows of half double crochet front post, back post pattern.

I do the body of the sweater, then the hood. At that point, I join at the bottom corner of the right side, do single crochet and the ties at the proper places, go around the front of the hood with single crochet, then the ties on the other side, and continue down the left side. Then I chain 1, turn and single crochet around the fronts and hood twice more, going behind the ties and chain 1, turn and do it the second trip around at the other corner.

For the sleeves:
row 1: join under arm
sc around 30-32 sc
join with slip stitch in
beginning stitch, chain
1, single crochet, turn
and do pattern in the first
stitch, in the opposite
direction. Join
at the first stitch, and chain 1,
I gather the sleeves by single crochet in the place where the pattern would be. This gathers to 16 to 18 stitches. Then I do the half double front post, back post for five rows for the cuff. Turns out beautifully.

For the matching blanket, I use K hook, chain 125, ch 1, do the pattern in every third stitch for the first row, and do approx. 100-125 rowsin the pattern just like the sweater body. I then do a 6 double crochet shell, slip stitch, chain 1 in the next pattern place, around.

Hi Dot....thanks for all the great patterns, you're great for sharing! I just finished this sweater (minus the hood!) for my great niece out in AZ. We live in MA so dear hubby can't understand why a baby would even need a sweater in AZ...I told him to much AC out there! I love your work and wanted to say thanks! HappyHooking CP:)

Hi me. I hope you got the pattern to work out for you. If you have to skip 1 more or less than a pattern calls for, it's OK to "fudge" it a little that way, as long as you get the results you want. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm not sure if I need to change it or not, but I do appreciate your feedback on the pattern. Let me know how it turns out for you.

sorry I messed up that last comment. ok what I mean is, when you finish row one, you have 36 stitches. then it says to do row 2, to have 35 stitches. then when you repeat row 2.. at the end, you can't skip the next two stitches, you have to skip just one stitch for it to come out with 35 stitches each time. Hope you get that.. ?

Hello! I'm doing this right now and I'm on the hood. I think I've found a mistake, but I'm a beginner so I'm not sure. Where it says "repeat row 2, you can repeat it once and it'll come out with 35 stitches but then when you repeat it again, there's only 34.

I love the way you have your patterns for each item. They are so easy to follow for me that is. Hope all feel the same. I am making the buttons and bows poncho. I didn't have any baby yarn so I tried it with a larger hook and simply soft yarn. I started it today and so far so good. Thank you so much.
