Hi Jean, I'm glad to hear about your successes with this pattern, and the size change using a G hook is good information I'll have to remember in the future. Thanks for sharing, pictures would be nice too *g*.

Hi Dot, I just had to share. I love this pattern. I've made two more. I used a g hook and it sized down to about a 7 year old. I then decided to finally make myself one, something I rarely do. I love it. Thanks so much

My 9 year old Granddaughter requested a poncho for Christmas. I got on the net and found your site. I saw Bows and Arrows and fell in love with it. Your patterns are really beautiful! I used a H hook and the poncho came out great. My Granddaughter loved it and it looked so cute on her. Thank you so much.

Kymberly, I think you'd be better off trying to enlarge the Baby Bows and Arrows. It's all the same pattern, just different size hooks and yarns. Use a G or H hook with the Baby Bows and Arrows and make it as long as you want it for your 4T. The multiple is only referring to the repeat parts of the pattern.

Good luck with your project. I hope it works out for you.

Dot,

I'm trying to get all the way down to size 4T. I think a smaller hook won't work. In an earlier post you said the repeat is a multiple of 12 plus 10. Does that mean the foundation chain is say 36 +10 for a beginning of 46?

Hi Kymberly, thank you. I'm glad you like my designs. Deborah, another reader, said she downsized this project for her 8 year old by just changing the hook size to an H. Maybe that will work for you too.

Dot,

I am trying to downsize this poncho for a little girl. What is the repeat? Your designs are gorgeous! Really, I've hunted and hunted for something that isn't the same old double crochet, shell after shell!

Hi Gwen, glad you like my patterns. Your skirt and blouse sound beautiful. It must be so nice to be able to design and wear an outfit like that.

Dot,
I love everything I've seen on your
site. I made a skirt and sweater blouse set (my own design) with #10 thread(doubled) and wore it to my goddaughters wedding. I'm going to have a ball trying out your patterns, I just know that already.
Thanks for all the time you spent
putting these together for us.

Hi Ruth. I've tried to figure out how to make a cape from my poncho patterns, but it's just not working for me. Some day I hope I'll figure it out and when I do, I'll post the pattern right here for everyone to use.

Hi Dot, It is me again. I was wondering if you could make a cape with the bows and arrows pattern. I just love all your work, like I said before, so easy to read and crochet. I have a plus size friend and would love to make her a cape with the bows and arrows pattern. I can not figure it out how to do that. Thanks for all your help.

As soon as I finish the lace skirt I'm making, I'm starting this with a pastel sportweight called Mexicana. I have just enough for the poncho. Thanks so much!
