Hi Hannah. That's a good question, but I don't have a good answer for you. It all depends on how fast you crochet. You can probably finish it in a few days, but like I said, it all depends on how fast you crochet.

How long would this poncho take if I worked a couple hours a day??

Hi Angie, You're probably not doing anything wrong. You still have 3 more rounds of the body to do and then you have the neck edge after that. Your tension and my tension are probably not the same. If you have yarn left over when you finish, don't worry about it. Just add it to your stash and use it on another project. I'm glad you like the pattern and I'd love to hear how it turns out when you're finished.

Dot, I was working on this pattern the other day and my aunt said she really liked it and asked where I got it. I promptly directed her to your site. Your pictures really add a lot to the patterns--that's how my aunt determined she wanted a copy!

You're welcome, Tricia. Yes, I think you'd be OK using a smaller hook size. As long as it fits over her head, you'll be OK. You can make it as many rounds long as you want. I can hardly wait to see how it turns out. I hope you will share a picture of your daughter modeling her new poncho.

My 10yr old daughter wants the diamond and lace poncho for her birthday. She picked a SHOCKING shade of pink(my poor eyes). Only thing is her being probably a ladies small, do you think sport weight and a hook one size smaller would work?

Thanks for another great pattern Dot.
