Hi Dot,
I can't say how impressed i am by your patterns and of course, your skill at developing beautiful new patterns. I also love the way you take pains to write down the patterns, so that we can execute it effortlessly. I adore your patterns. I have already made a poncho and a scarf and both these have been appreciated highly. I would definitely be making many more in future. I wish you all the very best and happy designing !!
Dot, one request, can you design a vest / slipover, for a teenager, with a non-lacy pattern ? I'll be thankful.
With loads of good wishes

Hi Dot,
Thank you soooooo much for the awesome patterns. I wish I had seen them several months ago when I had no hair (chemo). I copied several for the other women at my Oncology office.
I particularly like the "Butterfly Beauty", however if there is a link for the Butterfly Stitch, I could not access it. Could you please send it to me? This pattern goes SOOOOOO fast I figure I could make at least one during each of my visits!!!!!!!!! Plus what I could make at home. And I do intend to try ALL your patterns!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again,

Hi Sandra, thank you, I'm glad you like it. You're variation of the hat sounds great, I'd love to see it when you're done.

I am taking this pattern and reworking it. I'm making a hole in the back so if you wear your hair in a pony tail, you can pull it thru the hole, and still wear the hat. I mean the hat is gorgeous. You can't find stuff like this in a store.
Thank you for such beautiful work.

Hi Brigit, thank you. I'm glad you like my patterns. How nice of you to make your friend a "bad hair day" hat. That's usually the only time I wear one myself.

Hi Dot,
Love your patterns and appreciate all the work you do in putting these up for us. I'm working on the Butterfly Beauty for a friend of mine who is 88. She likes turbans to cover "bad hair " days.
Thanks again!!!

Yay, Kara! I'm so glad it worked for you this time. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi again! I did it! I did three rounds total of the 60 stitch rows, used a J hook, and a little thicker yarn. It turned out great! Thanks again. :)
 | | | Dot February 25, 2005 09:57 AM PST
You're welcome Kara. I'd sure like to hear how it turns out the next time you try it.
 | | | Kara February 25, 2005 07:53 AM PST
Thanks for the tip! I'll try that when I make another one. My stitching really is too tight, though, but I'm working on that with practice. :) I'll be trying with a larger hook next time, too.

Hi Kara. Glad you like the pattern. I'm afraid it may be on the small side. I've had other people tell me it's too short and they needed to add more rows to make it fit better. If you need to make it longer from crown to rim, add a few more repeats of round 6. That will make it deeper and maybe fit better. Thanks for leaving a comment. I hope to hear from you again.

Hello! I tried this pattern on Sunday - had it done in about two hours! It turned out beautiful - your pattern is very good.
My stitching though? It needs work. The hat will fit a toddler! LOL That's OK. It's fun to practice. :)
Thanks! | |
